On Tuesday 21st June, a group of people met in the V in Shannon to discuss ideas for the Shannon festival in september. The aim is to gather as many feasible ideas as we can, and once complete we will review and decide which will go through to be included in the festival. General Ideas and comments

  • Live Stream events from the festival online
  • PA (Chris Walsh Shannon, Graham Stewart Shannon, Ger Kilkenny)
  • Beam lights into the sky to be seen far and wide (Problem with Proximity of Airport?)
  • Can we manage sound from outside for quiter events
  • Do we need pavilion style chairs which can be easily added/removed?

  • Need 4-5 people to manage stage

What’s the point of Shannon Festival

  • Promote the concept behind the Venue
  • To showcase local arts in the area
  • To encourage more local people to get involved in the arts
  • To promote Shannon to potential visitors (both tourists and people from surrounding hinterland)
  • Shannon featured
  • Build a base, so festival can be run regularly
  • Build local cohesion between people, groups and so on.
