Annual Meeting Minutes 2008

Minutes of the 2008 Annual meeting of the Shannon Town Council held in the Shannon Town Hall at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday June 24th 2008.

Councillor Sean McLoughlin outgoing Meara Bhaile initially chaired the meeting.

Present were Cllrs. Duff, McCarthy, Flynn, Lambert, McMahon, Hillery, McKee and Mulcahy.

Also in attendance were Mr. Gerard Dollard Town Manager and Tomás Mac Cormaic Town Clerk.

Before seeking nominations for the office of Meara Bhaile the outgoing Meara Bhaile, Cllr. Sean McLoughlin, thanked the members for honouring him with the office of Meara Bhaile for the past 12 months, he also thanked the Town Manager and the Town Clerk for their cooperation with him and he also complimented the Press for their fair and accurate coverage of meetings.

11/06/07 Election of Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. Mulcahy,  seconded by Cllr. Duff and resolved;

"that Cllr. Gerry Flynn be elected Meara Bhaile"

At this stage Cllr. Flynn, newly elected Meara Bhaile, took the chair.

12/06/07 Election of Leas Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. McMahon, seconded by Cllr. McLoughlin and resolved;

"that Cllr. Greg Duff be elected Leas Meara Bhaile."

13/06/08 M. P. C. Chair Replacement.

As Councillor Flynn Chairman of the Industrial, Tourism and Development Municipal Policy Committee had been elected Meara Bhaile it became necessary to appoint a new Chairperson to this committee.

It was proposed by Cllr. Mulcahy, seconded by Cllr. McLoughlin and resolved;

"that Cllr. Tony McMahon be elected Chairman of the Industrial, Tourism and Development Municipal Policy Committee ."
