Annual Meeting Minutes 2007

Minutes of the 2007 Annual meeting of the Shannon Town Council held in the Shannon Town Hall at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday June 26th 2007.

Councillor Tony McMahon outgoing Meara Bhaile initially chaired the meeting

Present were Cllrs. Duff, McCarthy, Flynn, Lambert, McLoughlin, McKee and Mulcahy.

Also in attendance were Mr. Gerard Dollard Town Manager and Tomás Mac Cormaic Town Clerk.

Before seeking nominations for the office of Meara Bhaile the outgoing Meara Bhaile, Cllr. Tony McMahon, thanked the members for honouring him with the office of Meara Bhaile for the past 12 months, he also thanked the Town Manager and the Town Clerk for their cooperation with him and he also complimented the Press for their fair and accurate coverage of meetings. He also put it on record that €700.00 provided in the budget under the heading of Meara Bhaile’s Award would be allocated at a future date to a Literary and Cultural Project.

14/06/07: Election of Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. Mulcahy,  seconded by Cllr. Flynn and resolved;
“that Cllr. Sean McLoughlin be elected Meara Bhaile”
At this stage Cllr. McLoughlin, newly elected Meara Bhaile, took the chair.

15/06/07: Election of Leas Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. Duff, seconded by Cllr. Mulcahy and resolved;
“that Cllr. Gerry Flynn be elected Leas Meara Bhaile.”
