Annual Meeting Minutes 2006

Comhairle Bhaile na Sionna (Shannon Town Council)

Minutes of the 2006 Annual meeting of the Shannon Town Council held in the Shannon Town Hall at 6.30 p.m. on Tuesday June 27th 2006.

Councillor Tony Mulcahy, outgoing Meara Bhaile chaired the initially chaired the meeting

Present were Cllrs. Duff, McCarthy, Flynn, Lambert, McLoughlin, McKee and McMahon.

Also in attendance were Mr. Gerard Dollard Town Manager and Tomás Mac Cormaic Town Clerk

16/06/06 Election of Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. Duff and seconded by Cllr. Flynn;
“that Cllr. Tony McMahon be elected Meara Bhaile”
As there were no other proposals the Meara Bhaile declared Cllr. McMahon elected.

At this stage Cllr. McMahon, newly elected Meara Bhaile, took the chair.

17/06/06 Election of Leas Meara Bhaile

Proposed by Cllr. Mulcahy and seconded by Cllr. Duff:-
“that Cllr. Sean McLoughlin be elected Leas Meara Bhaile.”
As there were no other proposals the Meara Bhaile declared Cllr. McLoughlin
elected.

18/06/06 Confirmation of Chairpersons and Town Councillors on MPCs

Proposed by Cllr. Mulcahy, seconded by Cllr. McLoughlin and resolved;
“that Cllr. Flynn replace Cllr. McMahon as Chairman of the Industrial, Tourism and Development Municipal Policy Committee. Town Councillors on this committee would be Cllr. Hillery, Lambert and Mulcahy.

Proposed by Cllr. McLoughlin, seconded by Cllr. Flynn and resolved:
“that Cllr. Duff replace Cllr. McLoughlin as Chairman of the Environment and Community Affairs Municipal Policy Committee. Town Councillors on this committee would be Cllrs. McKee, McCarthy and McLoughlin.

The Meara Bhaile to be an ex-officio member of both committees.
