Minutes of the annual meeting of the Shannon Town Council held in the Shannon
Town Hall on Tuesday July 2nd 2002 @ 6.30pm.
Mr. Mike McKee, Méara Bhaile, presided at the opening of the meeting.
Present were Councillors McCarthy, Lambert, Duff, Flynn, McMahon, Mulcahy,
Hillery and O'Brien.
Also in attendance were Mr. Gerard Dollard Town Manager and Tomas Mac Cormaic
Town Clerk.
1/7/02 Election of Méara Bhaile.
It was proposed by Cllr. Hillery, and seconded by Cllr. McCarthy:- "that Cllr. Pat O'Brien be elected Méara Bhaile."
It was proposed by Cllr. Flynn and seconded by Cllr.
Duff
"that Cllr. Tony McMahon be elected Méara Bhaile".
After a roll call vote Cllr. O'Brien was elected Méara Bhaile by
five votes to four.
Cllrs. Hillery, Lambert, McCarthy, McKee and O'Brien voted for Cllr.
O'Brien and Cllrs. Duff, Flynn, McMahon and Mulcahy voted for Cllr.
McMahon.
The newly elected Méara Bhaile presided over the remainder of the Annual
Meeting.
2/7/02 Election of Leas Méara Bhaile.
It was proposed by Cllr. Lambert and seconded by Cllr. McKee
"that Cllr. Sean Hillery be elected Leas Méara Bhaile".
It was proposed by Cllr. Duff and seconded by Cllr. McMahon
"that Cllr. Tony Mulcahy be elected Leas Méara Bhaile."
After a roll call vote Cllr. Hillery was elected Leas Méara Bhaile by
five votes to four.
Cllrs. Hillery, Lambert, McCarthy, McKee and O'Brien voted for Cllr.
Hillery and Cllrs. Duff, Flynn, McMahon and Mulcahy voted for Cllr. Mulcahy.
