Minutes of the annual meeting of the Shannon Town Commissioners held in the Shannon Town Hall on Tuesday July 3rd 2001@ 6.30pm.

The Cathaoirleach, Mrs Geraldine Lambert, presided at the opening of the meeting.

Present were Commissioners Flynn, Duff, O'Brien, Mulcahy, McKee, McCarthy and Hillery.

Also in attendance were Mr. Gerard Dollard Director of Services(Planning) for Clare County Council and Shannon Town Manager and Tomas Mac Cormaic Town Clerk.

1/7/01 Election of Cathaoirleach.
It was proposed by Comm. McCarthy, seconded by Comm. O'Brien and resolved:
"that Comm. Mike McKee be elected Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Town Commissioners."

Following his election as Cathaoirleach of the Commission, Comm. McKee presided over the remainder of the meeting.

2/7/02 Election of Leas Cathoirleach.
It was proposed by Comm. Hillery, seconded by Comm. Lambert and resolved:
"that Comm. Pat O'Brien be elected Leas Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Town Commissioners".

Because of the election of Comm. McKee as Cathoirleach of the Commission a vacancy was created for Cathaoirleach of the M.P.C. catering for Industrial and Tourism Development and because Comm. McCarthy indicated her intention of stepping down from the position of Cathaoirleach of the M.P.C. catering for the Environment and Community Affairs a vacancy for Cathaoirleach of this MPC would also be created. These two vacancies would be filled at the September meeting.
